TV Talk: How Do YOU Watch Television in Your Home?

Monday, October 24, 2011 Leave a Comment

In this day an age, you have SO many options when it comes to watching television. We went almost two years without cable. We, simply, relied on services such as Hulu and Netflix. Yeah. We watched Hulu back when it was FREE. I'm sure you don't remember that, but I feel as if we've always been on top of the game when it came to new television services.

Do you remember my Netflix post? You know... the one where I wanted to quit the service SO bad, because it aids in my daughter's addictive behavior? Yeah. That one. We have since, gotten rid of the streaming giant and reverted to Direct TV, but should we have done our research before taking the plunge? There are other providers out there, that I have just now discovered, such as ATT Uverse Texas. So, my question to you? How do YOU watch television?

I'm intrigued at everyone's TV watching habits, because, to be frank, I don't watch TV very much at all. I remember, my husband came home from a business trip and he asked me where the remote is. I answered with a, "I don't know. Wherever you left it last." I can STILL see his face and the sound of his grumble when he said, "I've been GONE for two weeks for business. You didn't watch TV the ENTIRE time I was gone?"

Nope.

Not once.

So, where I'm a less-than-frequent-TV-watcher, it leaves room for a more-than-an-addiction-internet-doer. It's like, my thing.

What I'd like to know, however, is how you guys watch television in your home? Do you rely on internet based services such as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon? Or do you go the Cable/DVR route for family watching with services like ATT Uverse Texas, Comcast, or {like me} Direct TV?

Netflix streaming. No cable where I live and there are too many trees for satellite. Nothing older than, say, 25 years... lola

I was going to dump Netflix, but they backed off the 'Qwikster' joke and didn't spin off their DVD business. So I think I will stay. Despite the price...

Yesterday I read that Netflix has lost 800,000 members! Isn't that crazy. I can definitely understand your situation though. It's hard living in an area that's not cable friendly.

    Thanks for stopping by!

Just the usual cable/DVR route, but with only a few available channels as part of the package.
