Goo Gone Passion Project: Can You REALLY Clean Permanent Marker Off Electronics?

Monday, October 17, 2011 Leave a Comment

As a young mother, I was appalled the first time my little one wrote on my wall with crayon. In fact, I was left with my mouth open wide thinking How in the WORLD do I get crayon off my wall?

Three children later, I've had my fair share of experience with cleaning crayon drawings off the wall, pencil art off the table, and marker mess off the furniture. Out of ALL that experience, I can HONESTLY say there is not one product or cleaning solution that I would recommend over the other. All either did little to clean up the mess or cleaned up the mess so well, it took the paint right off with it. What's a mother to do? Well, Goo Gone has a few answers and that's why they asked me to participate in the Goo Gone Passion Project.

The makers of Goo Gone asked me if I'd like to participate in a little experiment called the Goo Gone Passion Project. Basically, they'd send me an item they KNOW that I'm going to love. It'll be brand new, but it'll be a littttttle bit flaw in some way.

It was VERY secretive on what the item would be. My only mission? To fix the flaw with Goo Gone. So, what did they send? Well, below you can see they've sent me an AWESOME Samsung HD Video Camera. This will come in handy with my daughter's cheer competitions and my son's Karate Tournaments. Sometimes iPhone just doesn't cut it video wise.

When I got the camera I was in SHOCK that they wrote on it with permanent marker. I mean... who does that?! Well, apparently Goo Gone does because they are THAT confident in their cleaning solution. So, check it out:

Can you REALLY get permanent marker off electronics?

I can't exactly TELL you it's possible. I have to SHOW you. **WARNING** You may be in shock after watching this video. So, if you suffer from heart problems, this video may not be for you. {hehehehe}

Final Findings:

All in all? I am a HUGE advocate of Goo Gone. After the project I told my husband, "Have you EVER heard of this stuff? It's insane how well it works." He kind of chuckles under his breath and say, "Honey. I used to use it ALL the time when I worked in the furniture business."

Wow.

And he kept if from me this WHOLE time? The formula is a bit greasy, but, as you can see in the video, it's an easy way to get marker off electronics. It also works on any other gooey greasy mess you encounter. Just be careful when using it on floors. The formula is greasy and will leave your floor a bit slippery after clean up. I learned this the hard way after falling on my butt after cleaning up a mess on my hardwood floors.

See! I learn so you don't have to.

Buy It:

Ok. You're going to want to have this stuff hand if you have small children. You can find Goo Gone products at major retailers such as Walmart, Lowe’s, Home Depot and Target for the suggested retail price of $5.99 for an 8 oz. bottle.
