Back-To-School 2011: Small Goals Make a Big Difference

Wednesday, September 28, 2011 Leave a Comment

Finished with our Back to School Shopping, we continue through the 2011 School Year with my children actively engaging both in and out of the classroom. If you remember, earlier this month I shared the goals of two of my children, Zachary 4th grade and Abby 2nd grade. Both have small goals, but big expectations.

Momma Finds Style:

My daughter is on a mission to be the top 2nd grader with the most Accelerated Reader points. She's been reading up a storm and is well on her way as she strives for competition, not only through books, but by her recent decision to enroll in cheerleading. My 4th grader, Zachary, has made it a personal goal to speak up in class and get over his shyness. In order to do that, we've enrolled him in Karate to build self confidence and he stated he's willing to venture out and attend a lock-in at Church. This is a HUGE step in conquering the goals we set.

My kids are, not only, striving to reach their personal goals, but they are also really coming into their own fashion wise. Thanks to American Living, at JCPenney, the kids are struttin' confidence, comfort, and their very own unique style of kids clothes.

Okay. Maybe my daughter is a little TOO confident. Her photoshoot had us ALL giggling.

Reader Highlight: Momma Staci's Goal

Earlier this month we held a giveaway for an American Living Gift Card as we committed to setting goals for the 2011-2012 School Year. I asked you guys to share your kid's goals with me on the American Living ad on the right hand side, but I also wanted to know what your goals, as a parent, are this year. Our winner, Momma Staci from Momma's Gone Over the Wall, shared with us, exactly what she needs to do in order to avoid the early morning chaos {I feel ya girl}:
"My goal is to get up a few minutes early each morning so we don't need to rush around and to pack healthy lunches for my little one." - Momma Staci

Thank you all for sharing your Back-To-School goals with me and I wish all of you a Happy New School Year! Thanks to American Living for encouraging all of us as we set off for another year in the classroom, but most of all for reminding us that small goals make a BIG difference!
