Last night my preschooler decided that he was NOT going to take a bath. Granted, we've had a really busy week and he's borderline exhausted by 5:00pm, but he's just not interested in bathing and I've found myself coming up with creative ways to get that boy in the bath and have a joyful attitude about it. The LAST thing I need is a meltdown right before bed.

What is it that I need to do to get this child in the tub without a fight? Does he need more bath toys? Fun body wash for kids? So, I asked him, "Honey. What would make the bath MORE fun for you? What will make you want to take a bath every night?" With a smile, he listed out five things and a few aren't what I expected AT ALL.


5 Ways to Get Your Stubborn Child in the Bath
1. Bath Toys: He reminded me that the toys in the tub are few and far between. Yeah, they get gross or broken and I just chunk 'em, but I rarely replace them. Bath toys don't need to be expensive either. You can find some great ones on Amazon for less than $10.00. Or get creative using cups, blocks, or kitchen utensils you don't use anymore.

2. Kids Body Wash and Shampoo: I knew my 7-yr-old daughter was particular about her shampoo and conditioner, but I had no idea my 4-yr-old son is too. I was surprised when he said, "Mom, you know that Sponge Bob soap? Yeah. I need more of that and maybe you can put my name on it so Zach and Abby don't use it?" Having a fun kids shampoo or bodywash set aside for your preschooler is key in getting him or her to wash up.
