I was joking with a PR rep I work with stating, "You know my iPhone is only used to make calls 10% of the time, right?" I'm serious. My iPhone gets more "Kid Time" then "Me Time". They have so many apps they enjoying playing and I love it because most are educational too.Why do you think the OtterBox
is my best friend? Phone protection is key to a family like mine.
This week, I learned of an App Series that all kids will love. You know Arthur from PBS Kids
, right? Well, nine of his books debut in an App series giving your child the book to read, games to play, and even fun extras such as Mom recording the narrator voice.
About Arthur Reads App Series:
Arthur Reads Apps:
There will be a total of nine Arthur Read books available through an application. The first was Arthur Turns Green and NEW reads debuted this week including:
Momma Findings:
So, we got to try all three new books in the Arthur App Series and LOVIN' 'em. First off, each book can be read to your child or, if they already know how to read, they can read it on their own. It's all right there in the settings:
My favorite part, however, is the fact that I, as their parent, can record my OWN voice reading them the story. This would have come in handy when I was away for four days in California. This also proves to be a great tool for parents in the military or who travel a lot on business OR grandparents who live far away. It's nice to hear a familiar voice when reading a bed time story, right?
With the Arthur Reads App, you have nine stories available for purchase, spreading the love for each day of the week and beyond. Plus, the app features fun games, puzzles, store accessories, and ability to record ANYONE's voice. That, right there, is cool.
Momma Improvements:
Now, we are just LOVIN' Arthur Reads Apps, mainly because we love the character after years of watching him on PBS, but there is one thing I'd like to point out about the app. When you first open the story, it takes awhile to "start" or begin. My 4-yr-old is very impatient and wants it to start like yesterday. So, just be aware of the delay and give it a minute to star for ya.
Buy It:
Each Arthur Reads App can be purchased on iTunes for $2.99 or less.
