Music Monday: I Lift My Hands

Monday, June 27, 2011 Leave a Comment

Welcome to another Music Monday here at Momma Findings. While I admit our weekly post has been absent the last few weeks, I will never let it dissipate. Ever. Music Monday is one of my favorite posts to write each week because I mediate on one song that will encourage and inspire me to get through just one more week. Come on. If you're a Mom of young children, especially in the Summer, we need all the encouragement we can get. So, today's Music Monday continues and our pick is Chris Tomlin's song I Lift My Hands.

My husband and I aren't much into sports, however, we ARE into championship games. If the World Series is on? We're watching it. NBA Finals? Well, we were all about the MAVS (at least I was after Memphis was out). Superbowl? We've got a group of friends and a hodge podge line up of food in front of us.

All that to say, we're all about the exciting moments in sports. The regular season stuff just doesn't do it for us. We need that edge-of-your-seat excitement, the notion to raise are hands in the air when our team scores the winning goal for the trophy, the feeling that we're part of a group of people that believes in that particular team or city for that exact moment in time. It's a triumph.

That's a lot like worship.

I hear the words to a song that just makes me believe that God is triumphant and I can't help but lift my hands in praise, just like the lyrics of Chris Tomlin, "I lift my hands to believe again."

Sometimes it's all it takes to feel closer to Him for that exact moment in time and feel like you're a part of something bigger than this world... a part of a family of Believers that will cheer with you at the end of the game, when life goes back to normal, when the championship game is over.

Let Faith Arise.
