Trying Wendys NEW Berry Almond Chicken Salad with Houston Bloggers {Giveaway}

It feels like Summer already. The sun is shining bright, kids are playing in the Sprinkler, and we're busy picking veggies from our garden. It makes for a good salad on those hot afternoons and it's one of my favorite things to eat when I come inside to take a break from the heat.
If you love eating salad as much as I do, you may or may not have heard of Wendys new Berry Almond Chicken Salad. My family and I had the wonderful opportunity to try it out at a local Wendys with an amazing group of Houston Bloggers. We got to mingle with the Blogger's families then we headed to a nearby park to let the kids play.
Thanks to the Wendys and TheMotherhood, a big group of Houston Bloggers made it out to Wendys on Saturday. Our mission? To take over the restaurant! No... not really, however, we did a good job of filling up tables very quickly and we all had our cameras and smartphones out documenting every last bit of it.
I'm a little OCD when it comes to being on time. So, we were really early to the event making a great time to get our order in and beat the line. My daughter and I decided we'd both try the NEW Berry Almond Chicken Salad, while the boys... well they were boys. They went for their usual cheeseburger. The salad itself comes in two sizes, small and large (pictured below):
I went for the large and my 7-yr-old daughter went for the small. In hindsight, we could have both had the small. The large size was WAY more than I could eat alone. The salad comes with Berry Vinaigrette dressing and a package of almonds to sprinkle on top. I was pleasantly surprised to see that my salad was jam packed with lots of strawberries and blueberries and the lettuce was fresh and crispy, just how I like it.
After we ate, we packed up the kiddos and headed to a nearby Houston park. I was a bit bummed because we had NO idea that the park we chose ALSO had a water park. My kids were BEGGING to go swimming, but we were not at all prepared with our swimsuits, but I don't think they minded. They were happy to meet new friends.
At the end of the afternoon and after we melted underneath the Texas Sun, we decided to document the awesome group of bloggers with a group picture. I hate that we did it at the end because some bloggers already left and weren't able to get in the picture, but the one that did are below:
Final Findings:
All in all we had SUCH a great time mingling with area bloggers at Wendys. The NEW Berry Almond Chicken Salad was delicious and paired with their Berry Tea, made for a GREAT meal. I, however, found the price to be a bit steep for me at $6.49.
Win It!
One lucky Momma Findings winner will receive a $25 Wendys Gift Card so you can try to the NEW Berry Almond Chicken Salad.

I called it my "fish" salad with fresh fish, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and the "cole slaw" cabbage without the sauce it comes with. Top it with shredded pepper jack and your choice of dressing! It is so good! Of course, you can add fruit or other veggies. Sometimes I put mango in it.
