For the last 9 years or so, we've been a Playhouse Disney family. We've thoroughly enjoyed all the preschool tv shows that have debuted on the Disney Channel, but, moreover, we've loved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Just recently, my 4-yr-old decided that Mickey Mouse Clubhouse was for babies. Sad. I know. My kids are growing up and quickly outgrowing preschool tv shows, but there is one thing keeping my child excited about this show........ the Mickey Mote.

Yes, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVDS are now including a Discovery Mode feature where children can use the Mickey Mote to experience the DVD on a whole other level. With that said, a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD hit store shelves yesterday. Mickey's Great Outdoors has my child excited to use his Mickey Mote and has his curiosity all abuzz for our next fishing adventure.

What's more fun than new episodes? A new way to experience and watch these episodes with the Mickey Mote. We received our Mickey Mote when we reviewed Minnie's Masquerade and have thoroughly enjoyed discovering and learning along with the DVD. It keeps my child's attention and brings a WHOLE other element to fun time with Disney.

If you haven't heard or experienced fun with the Mickey Mote here's a little more info on what it is and how it works:

Disney’s Mickey Mote works with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the Discovery Mode™ feature, an interactive “Watch & Play” feature on the DVD. All parents have to do is program the remote control (there’s an easy and quick set-up guide in each DVD) and select the Discovery Mode feature on the menu screen.

Within minutes, kids will be easily able to respond to questions about scenes they just watched by pressing one of four color-coded buttons on the device -- a yellow star, green circle, orange triangle or blue square – to click in their responses. Discovery Mode features include two levels of play, which provides more challenging questions as the child grows. To date, there are more than 13 Disney Preschool DVD titles for parents to choose from that can be used with the remote control.

After using the Mickey Mote, my 4-yr-old has found so many more reasons to learn and love Mickey Mouse Playhouse. He's learning shapes, numbers, and letters, while directly involved in the story line with the kid friendly remote.
