April Beauty Pick: Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner {Giveaway}

Monday, April 18, 2011 Leave a Comment

It's another month, another Beauty Pick just for you guys. April is Earth Month, in which we celebrate ways to do our part to create a healthier environment. So, I'm happy to say that our beauty pick of the month does just that. Garnier Fructis has launched a new line of products for the Eco-Friendly gal, called Pure Clean. In this line you'll find shampoo, conditioner, and styling products that give you stronger and healthier hair while making an impact on healthy green living.

We got to try the Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner. All of you have SEEN the monster ball of hair I deal with on a daily basis, right? Well, today, you get to check out how this product faired with me and you'll also have a chance to win it, but the doozie? This week, I talk about My Kind of Beautiful and it's a sensitive one.

Momma Findings:

I'm all about Earth Month this April. If you remember, last week I let you guys know about Pureology's Green School Makeover Contest and I also told you about how we're taking the 4 Week Scott Naturals Test Drive. Not only that, but I'll be bringing you lots of Green News and projects we're working on here at Momma Findings this week.

Thanks to H-E-B, we got to try the Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner by Garnier Fructis. I was a little hesitant only because I have VERY long, VERY curly, and VERY dry hair. Seeing that a lot of ingredients stripped from this product, I wasn't sure it would work for me.

After a few weeks using, I feel the product is worth talking about. For one, it's an environmentally friendly beauty product. I never really thought about how a product could do this until I found Garnier Fructis Pure Clean. I feel like it's a great addition to our Green Living style we're adopting. In addition, the fragrance is divine, in a clear formula. The shampoo lathers marvelously and the conditioner washes out easily.

Momma Improvements:

Although, I do like the product, there is one thing a Texas Girl with long, curly, frizz proned hair can't live without and that's moisturizer for my hair. I use twice as much conditioner as I do shampoo and with these two products, I found that, although, my hair felt REALLY clean........ it also felt a little too clean. My hair became very dry and hard to manage even with my normal stylers. I will say that I think this product would work better for someone with shorter and finer hair, like my husband. He loved it!

Final Findings:

All in all, I feel Garnier Fructis has developed a line of Pure Clean products that will make an impact on Green Families. The Shampoo and Conditioner are great for days when you feel your hair is just too heavy due to styling, hairspray, or even chemicals used when coloring. Just know if you share the same hair type as I do, you might have a hard time keeping the moisture you need to have a good hair day. Check out what the Beauty Experts had to say about Garnier Fructis Pure Clean.

My Kind of Beautiful:

Man. I really didn't want to write this, however, when I first began the My Kind of Beautiful excerpts, I knew this would eventually need to be talked about. I'm not holding back each month when I pin point the struggles I go through when it comes to beauty.

My Weight. Oh. My.

I've gone there.

I, recently, returned from a trip to LA and after seeing so many pictures of myself, I grew disgusted. I mean, I'm a runner. I can get out there and run me a 5K like nobody's business, however, my weight doesn't show it. I've had three children and I spend the majority of my time being a Mom, a Wife, and a Blogger which consists of working in front of a computer for long hours in a day.

I wrote a post about how I've battled low self esteem and confidence since I was a teenager. For some reason, I've never felt "good enough"....... been there? Before I finished the post, I polled my fellow Facebook friends to see how they build their confidence and, through that poll, I've become more aware of just how to get passed the tummy, get passed the weight problem, and into a healthy stride of confidence. Tomorrow, I start from the beginning. A Couch to 5K program to help me build back my confidence and guess who has decided to be my cheerleader and partner? My 7-yr-old daughter.

We're on our way to discovering that we all come in different sizes, but it's the personality, the smile, the infectious joy that we exude that makes us beautiful.

It's My Kind of Beautiful.

I didn't want to choose! I want to support all three. Finally, I voted for clean water-- that is the most basic need.
