Yesterday, we experienced a really horrible day. When we have bad days it's usually because one of us is tired, or stressed, or things just aren't going our way. It's very rare that someone, outside our sweet circle, intentionally hurts us.

That's what happened yesterday. She was out to hurt me and hurt my children. I was angry. I was in that vengeful state for a mere moment. So, I did the only thing I knew to do. I sat. I breathed deeply. I prayed and I listened to music.


Yesterday, I found a song that really hit me, really calmed me and really just reminded me that I can't control the actions of others. God is always in control and the beauty of it all is that His Grace found me and pardoned me. I am forgiven so why can't I forgive the one who hurt me yesterday?

My neighbor. Bless her. She is just not happy with anything we do. Our sweet puppy "keeps going to her yard". I won't make excuses. Yes, he sometimes goes to her yard, however, it's not as if I LET him. He never tears anything up and never goes to the bathroom on her property, but yesterday she felt the need to call the pound to pick up our dog.

My daughter was in tears. She held tight to our puppy and I looked in her eyes, then back to the city official explaining how he would be breaking my daughter's heart if he took our dog away. In TEARS people, I silently prayed he'd understand what this would do to our family. Bless him, he gave us a warning and left.

I was angry. I was hurt and I was in tears asking God to lift this anger from my heart.

Then I heard this song by Jonny Diaz Beauty of the Cross. The beat is just uplifting and beautiful. It turned my heart from anger into a plea of forgiveness for letting her actions make me so angry.
