If you love Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, like we do, get ready for an ALL new DVD on store shelves, Minnie's Masquerade. I've heard it called, by many people, the Minnie Princess Movie. So, I was anxious to check it out and see our sweet Minnie finally take her reign as Princess.
We love us some Micky Mouse. Who doesn't? More so than that, my children enjoy playing dress up. Every day I'll find Super Mario eating his lunch at the table or the Hulk reading a book on the couch. Kids use their imagination in so many ways and I think that's why I was excited to share Minnie's Masquerade with them. Yes, it looks to be geared towards girls, however, that's not the case. My 4-yr-old son was ALL about the ball and his favorite character? Sir Goofsalot!
About Minnie's Masquerade:
Sneak Peek:
Momma Findings:
My daughter and I were thrilled to check out the movie, but my 4-yr-old had something else in mind........ the Mickey Mote
. If you haven't seen the Mickey Mote, I don't know where you've been. This is a remote made for little hands and the blooming minds of preschoolers. With this remote they are able to control the the DVD features, play games, and answer questions throughout the movie!
One other thing that I loved about the DVD + Mickey Mote package is that it comes with lots of extras. You receive the DVD, Mickey Mote, Dress-Up Mask, DVD, AND you'll get a code for Disney Rewards. Check it out:
Final Findings:
In the end, I felt Minnie's Masquerade was another wholesome Mickey Mouse Clubhouse hit! I love my son is able to watch and practice letters, numbers, sorting, patterns, and now with the Mickey Mote he's able to be more interactive throughout the story. Each episode is under 30 minutes, which makes it perfect for my energized preschooler and his attention span.
Buy It:
You can purchase Minnie's Masquerade + Mickey Mote
for the suggested retail price of $29.99 at stores such as Target and WalMart or online at Amazon.com. Single DVD (without the Mickey Mote) can be found for $19.99.
The Mickey Mote is so cool! We have a number of DVDs we use it for now, but I want to know from you. Have you used this kid sized remote? What do you like about it?

Disney’s Mickey Mote works with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the Discovery Mode™ feature – an interactive “Watch & Play” feature on the DVD. All parents have to do is program the remote control - there’s an easy and quick set-up guide in each DVD- and select the Discovery Mode feature on the menu screen. Within minutes, kids will be easily responding to questions, throughout the story, about scenes they just watched by pressing one of four color-coded buttons on the device -- a yellow star, green circle, orange triangle or blue square – to click in their responses. Discovery Mode features include two levels of play, which provides more challenging questions as the child grows. The Mickey Mote can be used with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the Discovery Mode feature. To date there are more than 11 titles that can be used with the remote control, just take a look at the back of the package to make sure.
