This Holiday Season, I'm very blessed to have worked with many companies to, not only create my 2010 Holiday Gift Guide, but to help make a difference in communities across the country. These companies have donated an extensive amount of toys to Momma Findings so that I can bless families who are hurting financially this year. Not only that, but the companies are SO amazing that they even sent extras for my own children, giving me the chance to have a really great Christmas.

I received tons of donations this year and I've already picked a very well-deserving charity to donate them to, however, I felt like I could do more. So, from now until Christmas I'll be highlighting ways you can give back to other charities, not only in my hometown community, but also across the country and in our military. I'll also be bringing you in on our charity drop-offs and volunteer work throughout the Season. Todays charity, paints Santa in a blue suit, but there are no blue faces when he comes around. Baytown Blue Santa has been bringing smiles across Baytown since the 1970's!


About Baytown Blue Santa:

Baytown Blue Santa is a Non-profit program organized by police officers and detectives from the Baytown Police Department with support from the Baytown Municipal Police Association. Each year, Baytown Blue Santa provides children of needy families with wrapped Christmas gifts so that the children in these families can experience the magic and joy of the Christmas season.

How Does It Work?

Baytown Blue Santa has been providing families of incorporated Baytown with assistance since the 1970′s. This would not be possible without the support and donations from the local community, businesses and civic groups each year.

The Blue Santa Program operates from donations and contributions from the community. Throughout the year, employees from the Baytown Police Department and other community members work together to compile a list of names of children that they feel would benefit from the Blue Santa program.

The number of families that can be helped all depends on the number of donations and contributions the program receives. When a family is nominated, a trained interviewer visits the families to access the family’s level of need. Once a family is selected volunteers wrap the gifts.

The gifts are then delivered to the families by employees of the city of Baytown and other volunteers on the delivery day.
