Thanksgiving has come and gone and we're left with leftovers galore. For me, it's a feast of food for the next few days, giving me a much needed break from cooking. Do you have any Turkey leftover ideas? There are a few things I do, such as Turkey Taco Soup, Turkey & Dressing Casserole, Turkey Salad (just like Chicken Salad) with red grapes, but my favorite ALL TIME leftover turkey idea is a simple turkey sandwich using my favorite sandwich bread, topped with lettuce, tomato, and swiss cheese.
This year, I'm using my new favorite bread that's thinner than paper, yet as strong as your usual bread slice. I discovered Oroweat Sandwich Thins just a few days ago and I'm bringing you guys in on the behind scenes look of my shopping experience, my taste test, and my, overall, thoughts of this new variety of bread.
About Oroweat Sandwich Thins:
Momma Findings:
Thanks to Collective Bias, I was sent on a very specific shop. My mission? To find Oroweat Sandwich Thins at Wal-Mart and take a test ride. To be honest, I hadn't even heard of this bread until the day before, when I saw it at H-E-B. I wasn't even sure my children or my husband would like it so I passed.
The next day, is the day Collective Bias asked if I'd like to shop, purchase, and taste the bread. Well, OK... you pulled my leg. So, off to Wal-Mart I went, early in the morning. You can see, just exactly, how my shopping experience went in my Whrrl Story below, however, I want to touch on a few things I really enjoyed about the bread before you do:
Momma Ideas:
You might be thinking, Hey, that's great and all, but what would I use these for besides a sandwich? Well, I thought that same question, but soon realized this bread is, probably, the most versatile bread I've ever had. You can make:
Final Findings:
In the end, I found Oroweat Sandwich Thins to be the perfect addition to our family. We're a family of boring bread, so this was definitely a fun, tasty, and new addition that I think we'll keep. You can make SO much with these, how could I not?!
Buy It:
Oroweat Sandwich Thins can be purchased for the suggested retail price of $2.99 in your local grocer's bread aisle.

This post made possible by Collective Bias. Opinions stated are, solely, my own and never wavered, however, I was compensated for my time and energy to conduct this shop.

- Variety: My children don't like the real grainy wheat bread, so I was glad to see Oroweat Sandwich Thins come in Multi-Grain, 100% Whole Grain, and Honey Wheat.
- Health Factor: Sandwich Thins come in whole grains, with no trans fat, no cholesterol, and no high fructose corn syrup.
- Taste: We purchased the Honey Wheat variety of Sandwich Thins. I went with this one because I knew if there was a hint of sweetness to the bread, my kids would actually eat it. Right away my 3-yr-old and I taste tested straight out of the bag and realized it would become a great snack.

- Breakfast Toast: We toasted two slices, topped with a little bit of butter, and our favorite peach jam. Seriously. It's just that simple, yet so much better than regular ole' bread.
- Individual Pizza: My kids love tiny pizzas. In fact, it can get a little fun having them make their own. Add your pizza sauce, cheese, and pepperoni or veggies then put in the oven till cheese melts.
- Appetizer: Having Italian for dinner? Use Sandwich Thins to dip into Pesto before the meal is brought to the table. Add in cuts of your favorite cheese.
- Thanksgiving Leftover: Top with Cranberry Sauce and Thanksgiving Turkey for a quick lunch.
- Toasted Sandwich: Thanks to Rachel at A Southern Fairtytale for tweeting me this one.
