A week from today, we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving. This year, I'm thankful to be here with family and friends (and I know you get tired of me saying that, but MAN I never thought I'd be back home again). That being said, there is a lot of Holiday preparations, at hand, to get ready for, not only this Holiday, but Christmas as well.
My gift list for loved ones is getting longer and longer, as I wonder what to get all of them exactly. There's family, friends, bus drivers, teachers, party hosts, and I EVEN want to shower my FedEx guy with a little Holiday Joy. He delivers packages, almost daily, to my house and is always so professional, considerate, witty, and careful no matter what the contents of the package may be. I found a great gift that's perfect for everyone, even my delivery guys! Who doesn't love chocolate covered apples? Mrs. Prindable's is THE place to find elegant holiday gifts, including gourmet apples for both Thanksgiving and the Holiday Season.
About Mrs. Prindable's:
Momma Findings:
Thanks to Mom Impact, I was given the opportunity to check out, first hand, one of Mrs. Prindable's creations. Waiting for me, on my doorstep, was a box that contained one of the most beautiful apples I've ever seen.
The Holiday Jumbo Apple.
And Yes. It was that pretty.
In fact, I can't even talk about it. I have to SHOW you what to expect when receiving a Mrs. Prindable's Gourmet Apple.
First, the packaging. The apple came delivered with cool packs (You know, to keep from spoiling or melting in this Houston heat). In that container was a smaller, elegant purple box, with gold ribbon.
Second, the apple. I opened it expecting to see it may have been bruised or crumbled, but it came in pristine condition, seal wrapped to perfection.
Third, the serving of the Apple. It was so pretty, I wasn't sure I could actually EAT this thing, but why let it go to waste?
Once we unwrapped the apple, it was time to take the stick out, which was really easy, slice and serve. My husband and children were the lucky taste testers and all enjoyed every last bite. The surprising part? We had one piece each and it was exactly enough to fill us up. The rich chocolate and caramel were filling and gave us enough to satisfy our sweet tooth. I was so surprised at how this ONE apple went such a long way. My family of 5 ate only HALF. Yes. ONLY HALF! I, then, packaged the other half and took to my parents to try. You definitely get your money's worth with serving sizes.
Momma Improvements:
There is one thing I need to mention with the apples. Well, first of all. They are perfect. I mean, I was downright giddy when I saw my apple. Never thought I'd be so happy over an apple, but I was!
That being said, it was really hard to cut. We received our apple on a Friday night and we cut it on a Sunday afternoon (it sat in our fridge the whole time). I followed the suggestion of letting it sit for 45 minutes at room temperature, however, when I cut the apple the chocolate shell quickly started to crumble off. The inside was a tiny bit brown as well. This wasn't an issue and didn't affect the taste, however, I thought it was worth mentioning if you're ordering to serve at Holiday parties. Suggestion: Carefully cut using a sharp knife. I know that's easier said than done, but, had I known, I would have been a little more delicate in the cutting process.
Final Findings:
In the end, we absolutely devoured our Holiday apple. Each piece was juicy and had a generous amount of caramel and chocolate. With the beautiful gift packaging and generous serving size, it's one of my favorite gourmet gifts for giving this season.
Buy It:
The Holiday Jumbo Apple (featured above) retails for the suggested price of $22.95. This and other varieties can be purchased straight from the Mrs. Prindable's website, at www.mrsprindables.com, or High-End department stores such as: Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue, Bloomingdale’s, Lord & Taylor.
