This morning as I filled, yet another water bottle for my son, I realized This boy is drinking WAY more water at school than he is at home.. What gives? His teachers asked us to pack one water bottle a day to keep him hydrated during class. His room is located in a portable building OUTSIDE the regular school building and there are no water fountains to drink from. Plus, water fountains are downright gross and germ infested if you ask me.

One thing I've found interesting is that my children will drink water MORE if it's in a fun bottle. Not only that, but they'll drink the hooey out of it if it has their NAME on it. *Gasp* I know. It's the little things that make their hearts flutter. A few weeks ago, I introduced you guys to the SIGG bottles and today, I bring you Lifefactory Kids Bottles. Momma Findings:

I was asked to check out Lifefactory and I grew a bit hesitant, because well, they're glass bottles. I'm sure I'm not the first Momma to be worried about their child breaking it, especially at school. Advised that they are protected by a silicon sleeve, I said, "Sure, I'll try it." So, what did we like?

• Safe: Lifefactory bottles are free of known harmful chemicals including bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). What does that mean exactly? Well, plainly put, they are safe to drink from.
• Easy-To-Clean: You have to know this about me. I don't buy ANYTHING unless it's dishwasher safe. I just don't have time to stand over the kitchen sink washing dishes when there's a game of UNO waiting for me with the kids. They bottles are very easy to clean and dishwasher safe. 
• Design: I LOVE LOVE LOVE the way they look. The silicone cover comes in a variety of colors to best suit your, or your children's, personality. 
• Visible: I'm really weird about having to see what's inside my bottle. For all I know a bug crawled in there and I'm just sippin' away. Lifefactory bottles are clear and the silicone cover's design enables you to see what's in it through the holes. 
• Protected: In addition to these bottles being BPA Free, they are also safe to carry. I was really worried about my children breaking it. I mean, it IS glass, however, that wasn't a problem. The silicone sleeve double as a sleek design and protection to prevent breaking. My 3-yr-old has dropped this bottle several times on hardwood floors, ceramic tile, cement and still it's in tact. 
• Uses: You can, not only, use it for beverages, but it works great to carry small snacks for little ones like goldfish, cheerios, etc. 

Momma Improvements:

There are so many things that make this reusable water bottle great for the family, however, with those things comes a few improvements I found along the way:

• Design: I, happen, to LOVE the design, but my 8-yr-old? Well, he says it looks too much like a baby bottle. Granted, Lifefactory DOES make BPA Free baby bottles, these were designed for older children coming with a cap, instead of nipple. Suggestion: My son likes the solid caps w/ the handle. Makes it look more "grown up". Maybe offer them the option of getting either bottle according to their liking.
• Silicone Sleeve: The sleeve does a great job at adding character and protection, but it's a little hard to remove and attach back on to the bottle. Suggestion: Just wash 'em together. I found there really is no reason to remove it, unless you think you need to scrub underneath the sleeve or looking to change sleeve colors.
• Mouth: The mouth of the bottle is wide to make for easy drinking, but you still have the ridges where the top screws on, just like a baby bottle. Improvement: I'd love to see Lifefactory offer spouts of some kind, such as a sports bottle. This'll make for easy drinking and prevent spills among kids. 

Final Findings:

In the end, my 8-yr-old decided he didn't want to take this bottle to school. I guess he was afraid of his peers making fun of his "baby bottle", but I found good use for it. My 3-yr-old son LOVES to carry it around with his favorite drink and, often, I'll find him carrying Goldfish. So, it works great for younger children and doubles as a snack carrier.
