My husband and I sat at the dinner table, exhausted and defeated. I looked into his tired eyes and said, "How can ALL of this happen within one week? I don't understand." I often tell others that God will never give you more than you can handle. This week I had to tell MYSELF that. Then my favorite quote from Beth Moore came to mind You weren't picked on, beloved. You were picked OUT. God entrusted that suffering to you because He has faith in you.

This week everything that CAN go wrong HAS gone wrong and it's easy to wallow in my misery, cry, or feel defeated, but deep down I know He has a plan for me and my family. I know this because every struggle and every stronghold has been lifted over the years and good has come from it. and, although there will be more struggles to come, I know His plan is perfect. I have the faith to believe in it, but, as parents, how do we help our children understand that as well? How can we reiterate that God doesn't make mistakes and any struggle we face is there for one reason, and one reason only... because He is in charge. I, recently, found a great DVD for young children to explain just that. It's called Hermies and Friends Who's In Charge Anyway?

Sitting around a camp fire on a beautiful star-lit night, the garden gang is talking about their favorite memories. Antonio recounts the Garden Olympics, but admits he was a scrawny kid-ant whose parents did not think he would ever amount to much. Flo confesses she used to be shy and introverted. And it’s also clear that God has had a plan for all of the garden characters right from the start – as long as they had the sense to listen and follow God’s message. Momma Findings Family Thoughts:

We've always loved Kids Christian shows like Veggie Tales and now Hermie and Friends, so it was a no brainer when were asked to review Who's In Charge Anyway?. I sat with both my 6 and 3-yr-old to watch it a few weekends ago and, immediately, loved the message it conveyed that we were all made by God for a purpose. It's based on this scripture verse:

"Show your servants the wonderful things you do; show your greatness to their children."
Psalm 90:16

I liked the fact that it's not too long, only 30 minutes. Young children, especially my son, have a short attention span, so this worked out great for us. The graphics were great and the characters cute, as always. I also thought that God's Voice was quite, gentle, and comforting, but felt it was a bit "different". My son, who I mentioned is only 3-years-old, was somewhat puzzled to see that. I guess since God doesn't usually speak out loud to us, he was confused on why He would speak so loudly and publicly to the Garden Characters. Nevertheless, it's a great DVD that is colorful, animated, and theologically sound. I will, however, say I think it'll be best for kids ages 2-4. My 6-yr-old daughter became a little bored as it was slow moving for her.
