My family has been big fans of all the Kohl's Cares merchandise over the years. Do you remember my daughter's obsession with that Kohl's Piggie? You can't beat buying soft plush for $5.00, right? You're also helping a good cause aimed at kids health and education. The latest Kohl's Cares® merchandise is in stores through the end of September and features Winnie the Pooh books and plush toys for just $5.
About the Kohl's Cares for Kids Merchandise Program:
Kohl's sells kid-friendly merchandise to help kids in our communities, with 100 percent of the net profit going to kids' health and education initiatives. Since 2000, more than $150 million has been raised nationwide. Learn more about this season's merchandise.
Kohl’s Cares® earmarks net profits for initiatives such as injury prevention, immunizations and education programs for diabetes, asthma and childhood obesity, among others. The program was created as a commitment to the communities we serve. Every day, Kohl’s directs time, effort and funding toward children’s health and education. In fact, 100% of the net profits from the sale of Kohl’s Cares for Kids® merchandise will be donated to support children's health and education initiatives nationwide.
Latest Kohl's Care for Kids Merchandise:
As I mentioned, through September, you can pick up Winnie the Pooh merchandise with coordinating books. In addition to supporting healthy minds, parents can support healthy eating this school year with Deceptively Delicious, a cookbook from Jessica Seinfeld, which provides tips for parents on how to sneak healthy ingredients into the foods that kids love to eat. This book is also available at Kohl’s for just $5.
Momma Findings Family Thoughts:
As always, every time we've purchased or received a Kohl's Cares plush product, there is one thing we're always impressed with. The softness. If you've never owned anything in their line of plush merchandise, you're missing out. The Winnie the Pooh line features Pooh Bear, Eeyore, and Tigger, along with 4 coordinating books all sold separately.
The Deceptively Delicious cookbook has already earned a place on my cook book stand on my counter. I'm slowly improving the way we eat around here as I work with my personal trainer to get fit and prepare myself to run more. (Yes, I hope to be in Half Marathon shape by next year).
Before we got started, my trainer asked me what my nutrition and eating habits are like. I replied, "I eat when the kids eat. No science to that." In Deceptively Delicious, the first paragraph in the Foreward, mentions how she is reminded of how important it is to protect her daughters from heart disease. Seeing my children's weight fluctuate due to our poor Summer eating has me on a mission to eat healthier foods.
The program overview in the book is quite simple:
- Equip your kitchen with tools that make cooking easier.
- Stock your kitchen with staple ingredients that you will use again and again.
- Make purees, a few at a time, and then portion and freeze them for use in recipes.
- The recipes. The deception begins
It all seems so easy, yet deceptive all at the same time! I can't wait. Oh and it wouldn't be a great cookbook without pictures of each recipe. So, I love that she includes the final outcome as well. Check it out:

We celebrate the first day of school by taking a picture of each child so we can compare how they have grown through the years. I also make sure to stay up (even though I work late shift) so I can see them off the first day. Oh, and I cry like a baby because I'm sad to see them go.
