I've had a whirlwind of a weekend! Yeah, it started on Thursday as I celebrated my 29th Birthday (Yes, I am an April Fools Baby) and with the Easter Weekend ahead of us, well.... I was busy. Did you notice I haven't blogged at ALL this month?
So, as Easter approached I was getting ready with Easter candy, baskets, and preparations, but on Easter Morning, I was a little sad. You see.. the Holiday that I love and the Holiday that makes me who I am, defines my being in this world... well, made me sad.
First, my children ran in the room laughing and screaming about what the Easter Bunny brought them. It's all good, we're big fans of the Easter Bunny, but there was no word of Jesus out of their mouth.
Second, I looked on Twitter and kept seeing tweets that read, "If you celebrate, Happy Easter." This was over and over and over again. Granted, I understand people and companies are trying to be politically correct, but this is Jesus Christ! This is God in the flesh who died on the cross for US, for OUR sins. I'm sorry, but I WON'T be politically correct as to not offend someone. I am a Christian. Jesus dying on that cross is why I'm here, saved in His Grace. This is what makes ALL of me!
So, as I read all the "politically correct" Tweets and Facebook Updates I keep thinking If YOU'RE a Christian, don't worry about offending those who aren't. Spread the love and message that Easter Brings without fear of being criticized or mocked. Jesus Did.
There's this saying that goes something like: Spread the Gospel and if needed, use words. This rings true, because we can be stewards of The Word, yet do it simply by our actions, but.. I feel on Easter you should say it! You should simply use the word L-O-V-E.
Third, I realized just how many people in the world don't know the God I know and THAT brought me to tears. So, I gathered my babies, told them to sit in a circle, and we talked about the ultimate sacrifice that Jesus gave us, taking away OUR sins. Then we prayed together. Momma First. Oldest to youngest. We poured out our heart to God thanking Him and Praising Him that we shall be so blessed to know him as Our Savior and friend.
On this Music Monday, these words hit me But if love became a man, if the word had flesh and bone. Would you recognize His face, if He came to bring you home. This. THIS is what Easter is all about. Our Lord, in flesh and BONE, dying on the cross for us, and rising to show us he IS Our King. He is RISEN!
So, "For those who DON'T Celebrate".. If I thought love was just a word, I might feel the same way too. But there's so much more than that, and It's waiting here for you.

I have a lot of the same feelings that you do. I really don't think we're offending anyone, people are just hyper paranoid about offending someone. And I agree that the thought of how many of God's children don't know about His plan for them is sad. The Easter Bunny visits our house on Saturday so that Sunday we can focus on the real meaning of Easter. What a great weekend it was! I hope you had a great birthday! You're beautiful!
You go girl! I feel the same way. I feel that Christmas has also become the same way that we just anticipate the arrival of santa instead of the arrival of Jesus. In my house, we have the Easter bunny as well as Santa but I try hard to balance the gift giving as well as why we really celebrate the holidays
