Today, we leave for SeaWorld San Antonio to kick off our Spring Break. It's kind of a big deal to us, because we've never been on a family vacation together. *GASP* I know, have we committed the worst possible parenting sin? I don't think so. You see, we used to live 600+ miles away from family. Every time we had vacation we used it coming here. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Texas and I love me some family, but sometimes going off on an adventure can be just the thing you need.
As any Mom might tell you, leaving for a trip can be a little exhausting, just in preparation. I have been busy cleaning the house, doing laundry, shopping, packing three children, one husband, and myself.
Call me the typical blogger, but I even have a bag dedicated to JUST electronics. You know, Nikon Camera to make sure I get those breathtaking moments of Shamu, Small Sony Cybershot for those quick pictures, my Flip Pocket Cam for video purposes, then there's the iPod, Kids MP3 players, Nintendo DS for the road, chargers, laptop, DVDS, Games, oh and I must NOT forget my Verizon Palm Pre Plus. In fact, I'm starting to realize I may not need to take all those gadgets into the park. My Palm Pre Plus captures video, pictures, holds music, GPS, and an alarm clock to remind me it's time to start heading over to the next Shamu show. If you know me at all, I'm not one to be late. Here I have dissected a typical weekday morning for you:
This morning, I decided to wake up earlier than the rest of the family to finish up laundry, finish packing, shower, and yes... blog a little. My alarm went off at 6:00am and as I stumbled into the kitchen to make my coffee, I saw 5:01 displayed on my coffee pot. What in the world? Is it 5:00AM???? I did NOT just wake up an hour early, did I? I walked over to the kitchen clock, same time. That is when I realized it was Daylight Savings Time. Time to SPRING FORWARD! Lucky me, my Palm Pre Plus remembered and "sprung" for me.
Why am I thrilled about this little tidbit? Well, every phone I've EVER had needed to power off to process the time change. My Palm literally sat on it's charging base all night never powered off and was smart enough to throw in the little time change surprise for me. If it was my previous phone, I would have woken up an hour late. I don't DO late. It's not in my blood, it's not in my brain, and I, literally, can not function if I'm running late.
I know, I know, I COULD have remembered to set my clocks before going to bed, but do you remember me saying how exhausted I am from preparing for our trip? Also, I may not be the typical person in saying this, but I've totally thrown out any classic alarm clocks I used to own. Instead, I use my Palm Pre Plus for an alarm. I organize each time I need to wake, name each alarm, pick my sounds, and voila! Just another reason I'm loving my Verizon Palm Pre Plus and getting a good start to my Spring Break Vacation.
I'm really curious if I'm alone on this one, but do you use your Cell Phone as an alarm or do you still use a regular alarm clock? What am I talking about I bet you guys are the best Mommas EVER and your bodies automatically wake on time.
Stay tuned for more updates on my journey as a Verizon Palm Pre Plus Mommy Blogger and our trip to Sea World! Vacation officially starts................... NOW!
This post made possible by Verizon Wireless who provided me with the Palm Pre Plus and one month of service. Opinions here are solely my own and have not been wavered by products received or compensated in any other way.

I never use anythign for an alarm on a normal basis...just my body. Now if I have to get up earlier than 6:30 a.m. for something then I just use my phone :)
