Am I late on this Music Monday or what? It's already 2:30 in the afternoon and this thought went through my head on the way home from having lunch with my sister:
"Wow. Matt Maher, you've really encouraged me with this song.
Love CAN hold us together!
Note to self: This is a great Music Monday song to highlight. ....
Wait. What's today?
DOH! It's MONDAY!
I totally missed the boat this week!"
So, as I come down from the high of jamming out in the car and having lunch with one of the most important people in my life, I will let you guys in on exactly what song I was listening to.
For the life of me, I could not find the lyrics to Matt Maher's amazing song, Hold Us together, but I couldn't let this one go. No, not me. This song is too amazingly encouraging <-- Is that a word? Amazingly. Why does it look funny when I type it out? Annnnnnnnnyhow, this song is too awesome to let slip by the cracks people.
The funny thing is, during the car ride to lunch, I was telling my sister how two friends of mine, who are brothers, don't seem to get along. One says the other is selfish. The other says his brother is too aggressive and can't take responsibility. She mentioned how sad it was to hear that because she can NEVER see us being like that to each other... not even to our older brother who definitely needs as much love from us as he can get.
I dropped her back off at work, breathed a sigh of relief as I saw my toddler fell asleep, then listened to what God would tell me on the way home. KSBJ is usually my first choice and it didn't surprise me that the song playing would be words straight from the Lord, Himself.. His dose of encouragement for me.
I'm blessed to be back home in Texas.
I will be my brother's keeper, my sister's keeper, my family's keeper.
We've had to weather a big storm with my Grandfather's passing,
But We did it together.
Love doesn't have a job, won't pay my bills, or buy me that expensive house.
It's not an easy thing to grasp that can fix our life in a snap.
But........ as Matt Maher says, Love will Hold Us together.
This can be the first day of the rest of my life.
It's gonna be alright.
