For You Miranda, Music Monday: Safe

My heart, is literally, aching as tears flow down my face. It actually sounds crazy, but it aches for a dear friend of mine on the other side of the country. There is a bond I feel with this woman, whom I got the privilege to room with in Chicago last year. Miranda, from Keeper of the Cheerios, inspires me every day in the world that is the blogosphere and today.... today? She's hurting and my heart breaks right along with her. Her father has been in the hospital for the last week or so and his pneumonia is the worst anyone could have. Doctor's told her family he has a 50/50 chance of surviving this.

Jaw dropping. Tears flowing.

So, as I sat to write Music Monday, I set the laptop to the side and just prayed.

Lord, the hurt is still so fresh in my mind. Although, my father is still with me, my Grandfather just joined you in Heaven. I know how hurt I still am. I know how hurt my entire family is and how it stabs our heart every time thoughts of him cross our mind. The day at the hospital seemed like a week long, seemed like it was all a nightmare that wouldn't end. I wasn't myself for a REALLY long time, feeling discouraged and just plain sad. Lord, Miranda feels the hurt I felt. First and foremost, comfort her fears. God, you are the Mighty Savior. You turn water into wine, you've moved mountains. You CAN save this Sweet Father of hers. His condition has turned for the worse, but he still has his life to live, a life of grandbabies, holidays, and time with his precious family.

Father, give this family strength to get through this difficult time. Lay your healing hand on Miranda's father. Give the Doctors and Nurses the knowledge of how to treat his condition. Guide their hands as they care for him during his hospital stay. Lord, do a miracle work that we ALL know you can do.

Lord, I ask you pave a way for Miranda to be at her Father's side throughout this. Take care of her husband and sweet babies so she can concentrate on caring for her Father, loving on her Mother, and lifting up the rest of her family, because I believe you will get them through this. Help her family to believe every second, until he's fully recovered. Amen.

During the week of my Grandfather's unexpected passing, I longed to just feel safe. I pictured my God just holding Pop, brushing his hair back with his hands, wiping his tears, and welcoming him home. My heart ached, but I know God was with us every second and that's his promise to us. That we ARE safe in his arms every day, his power and works are unfathomable, but we can always take comfort in Him. Always.

So, on this Music Monday, I dedicate Phil Wickham's song, Safe to Miranda and her family. When you're feeling so hurt you can barely move and you feel your strength has left you, just be silent, picture the Lord holding you, holding your family, and know you are safe in His arms.

I ask all of you who know Miranda (and even if you don't) to please pray for her Dad and Family. She's updating his condition on Twitter, so you can follow her @cheeriokeeper and find out her prayer needs as they are happening. Also, I usually include a Music Monday Linky to link up all your MM posts, but today.... I'm including a Prayers for Miranda linky. I want to show her and her family just how many prayers are being lifted up. If you've prayed or if you can commit to praying today, please sign the Linky with your Twitter ID. If you can write a prayer on your blog, even better. Link that up. The most important thing here is that prayer is powerful, and we can build an army of prayer warriors to get her through this.

Phil Wickham - Safe
Album: Heaven & Earth

Verse:
To the one who's dreams are falling all apart
And all you're left with is a tired and broken heart
I can tell by your eyes you think your on your own
but you're not all alone

Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging seas
Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet
With a love so strong He'll never let you go
oh you're not alone

Chorus:
You will be safe in His arms
You will be safe in His arms
'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart
This is the promise He made
He will be with You always
When everything is falling apart
You will be safe in His arms

Verse 2:
Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you to rise
So hear Him now He's calling you home
You will never be alone

Bridge:
These are the hands that built the mountains
the hands that calm the seas
These are the arms that hold the heavens
they are holding you and me

These are hands that healed the leper
Pulled the lame up to their feet
These are the arms that were nailed to a cross
to break our chains and set us free
