Corolle Dolls: The Perfect Gift for Girls this Holiday Season *GIVEAWAY*

Friday, December 4, 2009 Leave a Comment

For years and years, dolls have been the number one item on my daughter's Christmas list. She's 6-years-old now and this year, it's no different. Her Mommy instinct kicks in as she day dreams about taking care of an infant doll or having late night conversations with her trendy BFF doll.

Thanks to Corolle, Momma Findings has the scoop on three dolls sure to please the girl in your life. Designed for ages infant and up, Corolle has something for everyone! We were ecstatic to get a, first hand, look at three of the hottest dolls this Holiday Season in the Corolle line:

Large Pink Rag Doll: For that sweet baby in your life, Corolle has a line of soft and plush dolls that babies will in enjoy. It's never too early to play with dolls in my opinion. Sure to become a young child's favorite, this colorful character features a cozy cloth body and cheerful embroidered face framed with a fleece cap and soft scarf to keep her warm. Ages 0+

Nourrisson: Preschoolers will exercise their pretend play creativity with Nourrisson, French for "infant", an adorable, 17" doll that's just like a real baby! Made soft, light and delightfully huggable for endless hours of pretend play, this classic baby is dressed in a beautiful white outfit, complete with soft cap and adorable booties. Nourrisson is a perfect gift to treasure for years to come. Ages 3+

Les Cheries: What Elementary aged girl doesn't want a BFF, someone she can laugh with and tell secrets to?! Cécile features all the familiar elements of the Les Cheries collection: long, luscious hair, and inquisitive eyes. Complete with a trendy and chic new wardrobe, the dolls of Les Cheries especially appeal to children ages 5 and up, signifying "best friend" playmates - dolls for sharing confidences, for hairstyling and fashion play, too! Ages 5+

About the company:

Corolle is located in the Loire Valley , the storybook region of France that is famous for its scenic beauty and magnificent chateaux. The Corolle design team aims to create dolls that look and feel as real as possible with faces that are often inspired by real children. And just as you would find in a haute couture fashion house, Corolle’s design studio is where a staff of professionals works to develop the Corolle look, sketching their designs and choosing the fabrics that will make them come to life. Since its founding in 1979, Corolle has won more than 30 international awards for design and play excellence, including two DOTY awards (Doll of the Year) as well as awards from the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio, Dr. Toy and National Parenting Publications (NAPPA), among others. Today, Corolle dolls are sold in more than 29 countries around the world.

After seeing the delight in my daughter's eyes, I just knew I needed to tell all of you about Corolle's line of Dolls for that special girl in your life.

What We Liked:

• Big Selection: Corolle Dolls caters to all ages with their soft line of dolls for infants to their very trendy Les Cheries line. There is a baby for every stage of a little girls life!

• Quality: These dolls are made to be beautiful and realistic, however, they also have the sturdy factor in mind. Let's face it, little girls can be rough on their toys just as much as boys. I was very impressed at how well these dolls are made, made to last.

• Accessories: To add to your relationship with your doll, girls can choose from all kinds of accessories such as outfits and baby gear.

• Diversity: Corolle offers families diversity & ethnicity options, from light skinned dolls to dark skin. Want curly hair? You can find dolls with blond, brunette, and red hair.

• Dolls Hair: This is just plain cool to me, but you can shampoo your dolls hair when needed. I can't say how often we need to wash our doll's hair due to all our "playdates" so this is a perfect option for us.

• Packaging: All dolls come well packaged in a very sturdy box, nothing flimsy like most boxes. This makes it easy for storage as they outgrow each stage.

Momma Suggestions & Improvements:

• Availability: Dolls are a little difficult to find for purchase. They are available at Amazon.com, Corolle.com, and speciality stores nationwide, however, you won't find them at Toys R Us or widely known stores.

• Pricing: Each doll is well worth the price, however, prices per doll are a little steep for a family of five. When I purchase dolls I like to get the "Whole She-Bang", meaning clothes, accessories, strollers, etc. Corolle prices makes it a little difficult to do that without proper planning for the average American family on a budget this Christmas. I do, however, agree that one doll is well worth the look on your daughter's face when she first sees it.

Corolle dolls will bring joy to any girl this Holiday Season with memories they can cherish and pass down to their daughters. It's Momma Findings pick for Gifts for Babies, Preschoolers, and Girls Ages 6-12.

Buy It

Corolle Dolls can be purchased at speciality stores nation wide, Amazon.com, or Corolle.com. The three dolls we reviewed above retail from $35-$75.00.

WIN IT!

Thanks to our friends at Corolle Dolls, two lucky Momma Findings readers will win Corolle's Chloe Ballerina Doll. Les Chéries' Chloe Ballerina is recital-ready in leotard, tutu, tights and pink slippers with ribbon laces. She has an all-vinyl body, moving eyes and long rooted hair that can be worn down or styled up; it can even be shampooed! Ages 5+.

Roo is looking for dog toys this year but she never says no to a good baby doll or Barbie. I'd love to have more that look her age (5) so this one would be perfect...especially since she's talking about wanting to take ballet lessons over the summer.
