With the Holiday Weekend in full swing, it's a great time to hit the roadways and visit family, enjoy some relaxation and fun. If you're like me, budget is a factor on whether or not to take the plunge or sit at home this Labor Day weekend.

Everyone's talking about the Staycation, but I'm going to get a little more creative and encourage all of you to look at the options of a Statecation. There are countless opportunities for adventure, education and rejuvenation within the borders of your own home state.

I live in the BEST State to have such adventures, Texas. Yes, I am a little biased, but I'll be the first to say I'll always be a Southern Girl at Heart. For instance, just an hour away from my little town, I can enjoy Galveston with fun family activities such as: Moody Gardens, Beaches, Shopping, and even Schlitterbahn water park.
