Chicken Pox Vs. Mommy

The last few days have been beyond hectic. We've been battling colds, flu's, fevers, and every little aggravation that you can think of.
This week has been exceptionally hard because I've been trying to catch up on reviews, writing, and Label Daddy (Pssst... We announced the Full BlogHer Sponsorship Winners and the Conference Pass winner yesterday).
But I've been in this battle for the last few days. I pick up my weapons that consists of Tylenol, Calamine Lotion, Thermometer, and Aveeno Oatmeal bath, but seem to be losing the battle that is:
BOM BOM BOM!!!!!
(You like the sound effects?)
I keep thinking to myself, did the nurse at the Pediatrician's office shoot us blank rounds when we got the Chicken Pox Vaccine? Were we 1 of 50,000 who actually GET the Chicken Pox?! What gives? And WHY are you giving it to us?!
My 2 year old has a severe case of it. The evil spots and bumps cover him from head to toe and I just want to kiss him all over and make it better. Why didn't God give me the power to heal my children with just one kiss? My 5 year old has it too, but it is VERY mild, mainly on the inside of her arms, neck, and stomach.
This is how you know she is the daughter of a blogger:
Mom: (Gets the Camera) Rudy! Abby! Come here so I can take pictures of your Pox!
Rudy: *Claps with Glee* Pox! Pox!
Abby: *Rolls her eyes* Mom! Are you gonna put those on your blog?
Mom: Umm.. Well.. no honey they are for record keeping.
Abby: MOM! You ARE gonna put them on your blog. How EMBAWWASSING!
Mom: No, honey.. I'm not gonna put it on my blog. Really!
Abby: I'm not taking 'em. *crosses her arms*
Umm, I didn't win that battle because I have NO record of her Pox! The score:

Poor kids!
Older son got them from getting the vaccine! My day care provider at the time had my son, her son and my boss's daughter.
So she called my boss first and asked "so, how do you feel about E having chicken pox?" and put all three kids together!
Then she called me and said "Guess what?"
I hope that the itchiness isn't too bad, that they enjoy the aveeno baths and the pox are gone quickly!
Those poor babies. I remember having chicken pox and it was not fun. Then I remember my twin brothers who are 10 years younger and it was even worse. We've escaped them in our house so far. Good luck getting through them as quickly as possible.
Poor kiddos :( It's making me itchy just seeing it. I remember how miserable I was as a kid when I had them. I'm amazed that they have them so bad though since they were immunized. Hopefully it passes quickly so you can lysol up your house and be done with it.
The consolation is that you KNOW beyond a doubt now that they are immune. Even if the vaccine didn't take the real thing will. Here's to Mommy getting a long bath and some rest too!
He's still cute even with the Pox! LOL!
So, it was chicken pox? Aww! Poor lil ones.
Linda
Bless their little hearts... I HATE the chickenPox! UGH!
Hope they feel better real soon!
OH Sara I hope it passes quickly. Poor little guy.
OH Sara I hope it passes quickly. Poor little guy.
3 of my kids had them with in 2 weeks of each other. But that was before they required the vaccine. Not really much fun! And I get the "are you going to put this on your blog?" question too! Poor Rudy! He looks really bad! I hope it passes quickly. If only kisses healed!
oh, that's so tough! he is just too stinkin' cute...poor lil guy! and poor momma! i totally feel for you!
Awwww, look at that cute little tummy. Poor dude.
My boy will be three in April.
Poor Guy!
Did you have the peds office tell you its C-pox? I don't think it looks like them (peds nurse here). Looks more like either drug allergy or viral rash. Did they start on stomach and back and each day spread more? If started all over all at once, also not sign of c-pox. But...with the vaccine, the c-pox cases have been atypical. If you haven't had Dr. look at them...I would.
My kiddos are older: both had chicken pox before the vaccine was available. Oh, it's miserable. Hugs to all of you!
Oh, ick! I hope everyone is feeling better now!!
Bless their hearts!!! Was the snow any distraction today? Wasn't it beautiful? Hope the kiddos are feeling much better soon!
Awww, I am so sorry. Everyone must be feeling miserable. I hope everyone is starting to scab over and heal.
Pooh on the Pox!! I guess, if they had to get them...better than they get them now than when they get older. That's one of those things where the older you are, the worse they are - yeah, I know...none of this makes what you're living through any easier. :(
Our kisses are magical though - but I agree, too bad they don't actually have healing power. I hope everyone gets feeling better soon!
That is hilarious! Not their rashes, of course, I meant Abby's reaction to your paparazzi coverage :)
