Smart-E-Bear is More Than Just a Toy

Monday, January 12, 2009 Leave a Comment

My 5-year-old daughter is all about headphones these days. There is something about just her and the music on the other end that relaxes her. She uses them with her MP3 player, her Tag Reading System, and has recently started using them with her Smart-E-Bear.

Smart E Bear, made by Intellitoys, gives toddlers and preschoolers an introduction into the world of computers and virtual learning. Making an incredible learning experience, you can load the Bear, Cat, or Dog with your choice of songs, games and activities.

I'm all about simplicity here at my house. With three little ones all under the age of six, I don't have time for complicated toys. The set up was utterly painless. In case your child just can NOT wait once you buy one, Smart E Bear comes with preloaded songs to get you started. Once you're ready, simply use the USB cord to plug him into your computer, where you can personalize it with your child's name, favorite songs, cool activities, and fun stories. My daughter loved that she can navigate through her selections by squeezing the Bear's foot or hand.

This soft bear, which has been adopted into our family and named Beary Bear, has become my child's companion during playtime & bedtime, but it doesn't stop there because he even eats with us at the table. Our entire day is, literally, spent with this Bear which works out great because he recites up to four hours of songs and stories so he always has something to say or do with my daughter. If you ever need new material, there is an online store which allows parents to purchase additional songs and stories, available in a choice of languages. As I stated before, one of our favorite features was the ability to plug in a set of headphones. This makes it great for a bedtime story, but keeps the room quiet for other sleepers in the room or down the hall.

Smart E Bear is a hit at our house due, in large part, because he is so cuddly and my children can't get enough of the Rubber Boot Boogie.

Buy It

Priced at 79.99 Smart E Bear comes ready to go with both the batteries and USB cable. You can purchase your very own at Toys R Us, Kohls, or Target. Should you need additional retailers click here.

Win It!

We've teamed up with Smart E Bear to offer one lucky reader a Smart E Bear of your own. All you have to do is head over to their website and come back here to tell me which features of the toy most appeal to you and your family.
