Moms, Balance Your Act with Water

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 Leave a Comment

There is nothing healthier than drinking water. Now, ME? Well, I have a hard time doing that. I keep telling myself, "There is PLENTY of water in my coffee every morning." Not sure why, but I only drink water during my run or afterwards. Oh! Then there is the infamous visit to stifling hot places, like the Memphis Zoo, during the Summertime. I'll drink plenty of water then!

Well, this year I'm not only writing about products to keep us healthy, but I'm also trying to BE more healthy. What is the recommended amount of water intake? 8 Glasses? I'm struggling to grab TWO! What about your children? Do they drink a lot of water? My three children think water is disgusting and will have nothing to do with it.

You might be laughing at the way I describe our water intake, but it's sadly true. We are not water drinkers, but we WANT to be! So, we've turned to Balance Water.

Balance for Children, created by The Balance Water Company, provides mothers with an alternative to high-calorie, heavily sugared products for children ages two to nine years of age. The product does not contain any flavors, colors, preservatives, artificial additives, sugar or calories. As it hydrates, Balance for Children delivers a unique combination of 4 Australian flower essences --Bush Fuchsia, Crowea, Black-Eyed Susan and Paw-Paw-- that promote calm and focus, while helping to restore balance without depleting a child’s natural energy.

We tried the water ourselves and were not at all surprised to find out it tastes like... well... Water. We knew that already, but it was refreshing to see my children excited to drink it. They were impressed with the vivid colors of the package geared towards children that they'll drank it all day.

Buy It
The colorful six-pack carrier of Balance for Children contains 6 - 13.5 fl oz (400 ml) bottles and retails for $7.49-$7.99. Balance’s complete line of products includes: Balance for Women, Balance for the Mind, Balance for Travel and Balance for Children.

You can purchase it at mainstream stores, including Toys-R-Us or click here for a retailer near you.

Win It!!!

Thanks to Balance Water two lucky readers will win a 6 pack of Balance for Children. All you have to do is head to their website and come back here and tell me which Balance Water Type would best fit your family. That's it!

I think we would most like the Crowea water. My tween daughter is a worrier, and a nice cold bottle of Crowea sounds like it might be a great idea during exam week!

I definitely don't drink enough water! One of my goals for the new year is to DRINK MORE WATER. I'm also dieting, so I'm starting by turning to a glass of cold water instead of a snack when I get hungry. It's a start!

Our house could definitely use the Paw Paw water.

Thanks for a great review and giveaway. I didn't even know this stuff existed!! (Sometimes I feel like I live in a hole or something because I feel so clueless but REALLY I don't!!! LOL!!!)

LOL!! Sara, don't feel bad. I fool myself ALL the time about the H2O that I drink.

For instance, the Coca Cola I drink..that has water in it, Right?? Darn...that doesn't count as my daily intake (cuz my DAILY INTAKE of Cokes could be kind of high!! LOL!!) Orange juice doesn't count either--double darn?? So, you see I TOO am trying to do the SAME thing.

However, we DO need to drink more water. We KNOW we do. We would feel better. Plus water is SO much better for us than whatever it is that we are drinking, right??

We KNOW this...but still...it is HARD! I am sure that there are more of us out there--come on--maybe we will have a little club or something to get us motivated :)

My family varies on how much water we drink. I never drank nearly enough, but than I found out I am expecting so I now drink water every chance I get. But before it was more of a convience thing, brush my teeth, rinse and drink, or if it was shoved in my mouth from my lil girl.
My kids love water, my daughter prefers it over everything else.

  • jamaise said:

I drink a good amount of water, but probably not enough. I buy jugged spring water for the fridge & it helps just to have it sitting there cold. Maybe cut up a lemon or lime and keep it handy. Adding a bit of flavor might help - plus lemon is a great diuretic & high in vit.C. In the spirit of the health expo :)))
