V-Tech KidiArt Studio Review & Giveaway!

You rarely see me in any photos, because I am the one behind the camera most of the time. Well, I seemed to have passed that interest on to my 5 year old daughter. She loves taking pictures and, in fact, secretly took my camera a few months back and took self portraits of herself over and over and over and over and...You get the picture. (No pun intended)

So, when she took notice of all the new digital cameras on the store shelves this Holiday Season, it didn't surprise me that V-Tech's KidiArt Studio grabbed her attention. It's all her favorites rolled into one: drawing, photography, and art.

As a part of V-Tech's demo team, we had the opportunity to try one and boy were we excited when we saw this on our doorstep:



It was so much fun taking pictures of each other and then editing them with fun hairstyles, mustaches, and jewelry that we drew our self. I'm a bit technologically impaired so my husband had to hook it up for us. He did it super fast and mentioned to me is was easy as pie. You have to take his word on that one because I stay clear of hook ups on our TV. I mean there is a DVD player, surround sound, the Wii, cable box and who knows what else tangled up there. Within 10 minutes he had us set up and ready to play. I did, however, hook it up to our PC with ease so you can look forward to skipping the headache with that one Moms.

The pictures didn't have the best resolution, but better than some of the other leading children's digital cameras we've used. What do you expect?! It's not a Sony Cybershot and my children didn't seem to notice. Everything is hooked together easily so pieces won't go lost, which is a plus in my book since I've got a toddler with sticky fingers and would run off with the pen if he could. Keep lots of AA batteries on hand though, to avoid disgruntled little ones. My children wore theirs out the first few days and it takes EIGHT of those suckers! I'd say a Momma Improvement would be a power cord.

Our favorite part were the photo puzzles. You can transform any picture into a virtual puzzle for your child and helps them master the drag and drop method. Overall, it's a great toy addition to the family that exposes our children to art, music, and photography. Your child will be using Photoshop in no time after he master this! Oh, wait "I" can't even master Photoshop.

So, we get to scratch this off our Christmas list and now have our eyes on the Paint & Learn Easel. My toddler doesn't want to be left out of all the art fun!
