Time for Tea with a Green Toys Giveaway

Saturday, November 22, 2008 Leave a Comment

My daughter is 5 years old and I really don't know when she'll outgrow having tea parties. Honestly? I hope she never does. I mean, I'm 27 and I'd DIE to have a cute Tea Set and relax with my girlfriends!

This Holiday Season go green and give that sweet girl in your life a toy sure to please. I'm talking about the Green Toys Tea Set:

With a sleek and simple look you can have a tea party knowing that you are doing your part to help the environment. Green Toys are made right here in the USA, California to be exact, and made from recycled milk jugs. Did you really think that milk jug that you put in the recycle bin could make such cute toys?!

If you're thinking How much am I REALLY saving when I choose to buy Green Toys? Well think about it this way:

That's a pretty big impact, right?!

I was lucky enough to try the Green Toys Tea Set which includes 17 Pieces:

-Tea Pot with Lid
-Sugar Bowl with Lid
-Creamer
-Four sets of Cup & Saucers
-Four Spoons

Wanna know what made me fall in love with this set? THE PACKAGING! Yes, it was so easy to open, which helped this Momma out immensely. My daughter was getting anxious and breathing down my back as I opened it. She didn't have to wait long because all Green Toys products are packaged in recycled corrugated boxes with no plastics, cellophane or twist-ties, and are 100% recyclable. Earth-friendly AND ready for your recycling bin. Perfect!

Buy It
For ages 3 and up you can purchase your own Green Toys Tea Set at Amazon.com or other fine retailers for the average price of 24.99.

Win it!
Green Toys has generously offered one lucky Momma Findings reader a Tea Set of your own! Wouldn't your daughter just love one this Christmas?! All you have to do is head over to their website and tell me what other Green Toys product you'd like to try.

LOVE the cooking set- looks so sweet as well as the gardening set.

Well even with the price of gas low,we save and consolidate the trips we have to do. We also unplug and turn off things, and the biggest is we are trying to really save this year by if one says I am cold- we will say- go put on socks- etc, adn the heat will not have to be pumped...we are all so used to be comfortable immediately in life -so we make the kids and everyone think- will a pair of extra socks or slippers or wearing a robe or sweatshirt warm them up? We do the 3 rs too.

As far as conservation; I readjusted all of toilets to be as low flow as possible; we've converted every available lightbulb to the halogens;and I dry loads of laundry one after another so the dryer doesn't have to work so hard to warm up.

Thank you for offering this giveaway. I'd love to win this for my daughter. Having a Tea Party would be so much fun.
To save energy, we installed the energy saving bulbs throughout our home. We only run the dishwasher when it is very much filled. We try to keep the thermostadts at a reasonable temperature.
    Thanks so much.

  • myntric said:

Nearly every light bulb has been replaced with energy efficient ones. We also emphasize leaving lights and such off unless necessary.

We try to do what we can to save energy, but keeping our thermostat at 63 during the day and lower at night, and also having just one car.

  • sito50 said:

I have had my eye on this tea set for some time. Hope my number comes up! Around our house, we keep the thermostat low, turn out lights, don't run water while we're brushing our teeth. We also recycle and try to buy used when it makes sense rather than new -- good for the environment and the pocketbook!

  • Aura said:

The cookware and dining set is great! My son loves playing kitchen with his friends and babies but everyone ends up eating from the utensils and cups, and I would love a set that's chemical free and really green.

  • Aura said:

We use energy efficient bulbs, make sure to turn off the lights and walk instead of taking the car.

  • Raspberry Light Bulb said:

We use the the florescent energy saving bulbs. They last longer and burn half the energy. We also fill up two large recycle bins with mostly plastic bottles and etc every week. We also try to maintain the thermostat at a consistant low temperature as well.

Our family is pretty severe about electricity usage. We believe that the only room that needs a light on is the one you're in. And during the day, it's curtains up and lights off! Also, we try to keep things unplugged unless they are actively in use.

I love the tea set, would love to win it for the girls. I also really like the Indoor Gardening Kit, as I start our vegetables indoors before we transplant them outside in the spring. This would be good for the girls to do to with their own supplies. The Cookware & Dinning Set is very nice. Now the Sand Play Set would not get much use at my house, unless we used it in the Winter Time when it finally decides to get busy and snow. Colorado is in a drought, and we live more in the Prairie area of the state. Nice toys, good for our environment. Thanks. Good luck to all. Happy Holidays.

  • sunnymum said:

1.) One thing our family does to help the environment is to use a bucket to collect the water when the shower is first turned on, but is too cold to jump in. Instead of wasting all that water, we use it to water plants and to start off loads of cold-wash laundry.

Our family uses very little electricity...rule of them...no lights or appliances on if nooone is in the room. We also grow our own spices, and a few veggies...even in our apartment

We try to recycle everything and try to make sure we buy recycleable materials, if a green option is affordable we definitely do that.

I only go grocery shopping every 2 weeks; we use cloth napkins instead of paper ones and cloth towels instead of paper towels; we reuse plastic baggies; we keep the lights off unless necessary; we reuse any plastic or paper bags we're given; we cook mostly from scratch which cuts back on packaging waste...
