The Ornament Girl Review and Giveaway!

Tuesday, December 2, 2008 Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving was a wonderful time to enjoy the family, feast on lots of goodies, and remember each and every blessing we have to be thankful for. It seems Thanksgiving gets forgotten more and more each year. By the time Halloween hits we've got Christmas on our minds.

Well, we just finished trimming our Christmas Tree and I am just plain delighted. It brings a whole new dimension and warmth to the house. We gazed and joked about each ornament as it went up remembering exactly how we got it. Do you have that ONE ornament that you just love looking at? That ONE ornament that you just wish you could hang all year long? I have a few in the shape of crosses that I want to keep out and add to my collection, but another favorite that will take convincing to put away is one made by The Ornament Girl:

This Christmas Ornament is absolutely breathtaking. The Ornament Girl hand quilts intricate designs on each ball creating one of the most unique and amazing ornament I've ever seen. Made with hand-selected fabrics and sheer, shimmering ribbons she layers them around a ball using an old-fashioned pattern she learned from her mother.

The Result? A tiny quilt embracing a ball and trimmed with beautiful ribbon, lace, or charms. I can't even fathom how much time, energy, and patience these ornaments must take. I was incredibly excited to review one for myself and when I received the ornament I probably stared at it for 30 minutes or more.. just trying to figure out HOW she does it! It's talent and perfection all rolled into one!

The great thing about her ornaments is she makes them YEAR ROUND! There are so many selections to choose from for Holiday's such as Valentines, St. Patricks, 4th of July, Halloween, and MORE! I'm not saying leave your tree up year round like some people, but can you imagine hanging an intricate, handcrafted ornament on your mantle for each Season or Holiday?

I've got my eye on one sweet ornament for Valentines! Take a look:

Better late, than never! I purchased the Southern Lady magazine just yesterday! I saw the awesome ornaments by TheOrnamentGirl - Staci - and made myself a note to visit her website asap. I posted on her blog (#2 about the ornaments - by The Cake Lady - and after viewing them all for the past hour or so, I really love the Comtemporary Ornament collection. I just loved the Mod Dots, both of the Polka Passion ornaments, and the Black Mod Snowflake, but my most favorite IS the Black Tie Christmas Ornament!! I've never seen anything like these before in my life. They are truely breathtaking. Like you, I just sat for a while... and gazed at the intricacy of her handwork. I gotta say, Staci surely has patience!
I hope I'm not too late with my entry and I hope this gets me 3 extra entries for the ornament giveaway. Thank you for the opportunity to see MORE of the ornaments and to post on your blog for The Ornament Girl I'll be baaaaack!

I wish I had found The Ornament Girl's website earlier as I adore her creations and wanted so much to get a special & unique Christmas ornament for each of my three children ~ it is a Christmas tradition, one each year, and by the time they have their own home, they will have a treasure box of special Christmas ornaments for their own trees. I loved all of her ornaments, but particularly loved the Let It Snow Blue Snowflake ornament. Simply gorgeous. I posted on her blog, and contacted her by e-mail to get on the waiting list. My picks this year were for Let It Snow Blue Snowflake, Blue Icicle, Quilted Candy Ornament, and the Sparkling Evergreen Ornament. You must see these ornaments ~ absolutely spectacular! The Retired Ornaments are fabulous and shouldn't be retired! Thank you to Momma's Findings for providing an opportunity to win one of her incredible designs! Black Tie is dazzling! She is a very talented artist and I would LOVE to win one of her treasures! ~Patti

What a wonderful site, the ornaments are the best I have seen, to have such great talent and share it with so many. I have out myself on the waiting list and can't wait till my name comes up. As hard as I try it is almost impossible to pick just "one" of these when each one is awsome in its own way. I love the "ladybug' since that is my nick name and the "Mod Dots Christmas" is so pretty. It is my first time on the website but I look forward to visiting it every day.Have a wonderful Christmas with your family amd make memories to last a life time. Live, Love, Laugh.

I am in love with all of them I find the launaberger fabric ones to be my favorites because my mom has always had a thing for launaberger. She sold it when I was a little girl and the whole house is filled with it. I actually saw multiple fabrics that are on baskets that my mom owns. I'd love to buy all of them!
