Dear Walmart

Dearest Walmart,

I feel like we have a love/hate relationship.

When will you understand the dependency I have on you? When will you actually put forth some effort to understand my needs? Why do I feel like I'm the one, in this relationship, that is holding us together?

You have such great prices. I'm on a budget and now that I've moved, you are 5 minutes from my house. I see you on a constant basis, but yet you seem so distant. You seem so irritated when I walk through your doors. Why Walmart? Why do you snub your nose at me and why won't you see what I see in you? Your potential in the market of Moms could be SO MUCH more.

Listen, I'll go to counseling if I have to, but you have to try, hun. YOU have to try to keep us together, because I'm beaten by the rotten things you do to me.

You don't smile or try to make eye contact with me when I reach the check-out.

You take, take, take my coupons, but when I get home I see you never scanned them.

You don't help me put my bags in my basket when there is a CLEAR indication that I'm in need of help with a crying toddler and a whining preschooler.

Sometimes, you don't even get my bags in my basket! I pay for them, but you can't turn the stinkin' wheel to make sure I got 'em all?! It then turns into a big hot mess, when I must RETURN to the store, only for you to give me a hard time about it.

On some days, I see that you must be busy because the only parking space is at the end of the parking lot which turns into a 3 mile hike just to get inside, where I have to hunt down a basket that doesn't wobble or squeal.

Your baskets usually don't have belts that work to fasten my child. Safety is key with us Moms, Walmart. S-A-F-E-T-Y Spell it with me!

The aisles are often busy with workers, but yet they don't seem to know where anything is except the Customer Service desk which they kindly point to.

You have a gazillion check out lines, but seem to only have 2 in service at a time, if you don't count the self service lines that NEVER work or have bags.

Walmart, I don't want to keep this list going. I wish you could change. I wish I could feel trust that you will be on my side for once. Yes, your prices are irresistible. Yes, families on a budget really don't have many choices, but at least TRY. Will ya?

Sincerely,

A Momma who just needs a break today

But that's about it

I agree with everything you just said. ALONG with, why do the employees who are resocking the shelves not move one inch when your coming down their two small of an isle? and if there are two carts trying to pass, am I the only one who knows any common sence in how to let someone else pass first to be polite. I am afraid their way of treating us is rubbing off on some costomers. Everyone seems so rude and angry. But only when they are at walmart. I feel like I cant type tonight so maybe everything is misspelled. sorry. too tired mom

    great post

So many of the reasons why I do not Walmart shop. I am lucky enough to live in MI and have Meijer stores all around here open 24 hours with everything and groceries. They have better prices on all the regular stuff I buy each week than Walmart too.

That would be why I call it Hell Mart!!

That is why I had to break up with Walmart. Now that I'm with Target I am so much happier. And seriously- the prices are usually the same.

There's also the endless battle to get the cashiers to say thank you (any kind of acknowledgment that I exist and just gave them my money would be fine). Why am I the one going out of my way to say thanks?

Our Target's a little bit better but I've noticed they're starting to slip too.

This is why I do as much shopping online as possible. Even an order confirmation page tells me thanks! :-)

Sara, I hope you mailed this letter to them!

Curious to know which Walmart you live next to? I don't live far from one either - but so far, I have really enjoyed mine...However, I must admit they can NEVER take the place of my TARGET. They will always be number one in my book :)

You nailed it girlfriend. I've been traveling 15 miles to avoid the one closest to me that is CRAZY busy all the time. Now I'm down to whining when Papa says we need to go to Walmart. Target never has what I want. I shop CVS pharmacy a lot. Easy in and easy out. They have great stuff for the grandkids too. Hope you e-mailed them that letter.

I feel you pain! LOL I hate going late at night because the they block the isles with there carts stocking the shelves. Hellooo open 24 hours doesn't mean it's make the customer go through an obstacle course to get what they need!

Too funny... but the real sad part of WalMart is how it destroys small businesses. I feel guilty whenever I shop there... but I still do... sometimes.
