Colorful Stocking Stuffers Sure to Please

We have these stockings.
They aren't your normal "regular sized" stocking. My sweet Mother-in-Law made these for us and they all have a matching color scheme. It goes with all my Christmas Deco. really well, but they are a bit bigger than what I'm used to and sometimes it's difficult to fill them on our family budget. Good thing she usually helps us do the filling!
Most years I really don't know what to put in those things. Don't you know that I usually end up stuffing it was as many apples and oranges as I can?! Can you imagine their faces when they get to the bottom only to find fruit?! Well, I don't have to imagine because I've seen it first hand.
NOT this year. THIS YEAR, I have something better in mind:

Maria over at Retro Rugrats creates the most ADORABLE (and when I say ADORABLE, I mean ADORABLE) crayon rolls. I've seen crayon totes, but this, you can just pop in your purse, diaper bag, or car for easy travel fun. It even rolls right up so crayons don't get misplaced.

With so many fabrics to choose from you can really make it fit the personality of your child. For less than 20 bucks a crayon roll sure to please, will be delivered to you which includes the crayons themselves and free personalization. If you read my post yesterday, you know that this Tennessee girl loves me some monogramming!
Buy It
To learn more or make a purchase visit the Retro Rugrats Blog, Boutique or Etsy Shop. Crayon rolls sell for 18.50, but WATCH OUT there is this monogrammed baking set for girls that might catch your eye. It sure did catch mine!

Win it!
Retro Rugrats and myself have teamed up together to offer one lucky Momma Findings reader the chance to win the Pirates Ahoy Matey Crayon Roll for your child this Christmas Season. The best part?! She will EVEN personalize it for you!

What a great idea for crayons! To help you out on stocking stuffer ideas. Every year in our stockings I put a special Christmas ornament that pertains to that child. For example, this year I found a Football player Santa with #18 on the jersey, our oldest son is getting that one because he plays football and it happens to be his jersey #.

I think the Girls Retro Rooster Half Apron is cool. I like the color crayon holder, it would help keep the house cleaner than the boxes that tend to get ripped or weak where crayons start falling out.
Now for stocking stuffers. For girls it is kinda neat to clean up and put some of your own old jewelry you no longer wear in a cute box with a note about handing down a memory to them. Tell them the memory you have of the first time you ever wore the piece of jewelry, or the best time you ever had when wearing the jewelry (keep the story clean). Then tell them to write down their memory of the first time they wear the jewelry you handed down to them. It doesn't have to be anything expensive, it can be costume jewelry. Next, I like to sew some cloth hearts and stuff them with used dryer sheets that have a little of my perfume sprinkled on them. The girls can use these to put in their underwear drawers to make everything smell nice. You can do something similar for the boys, by sewing up a football looking shape and stuff it with used dryer sheets sprinkled with Dad's aftershave. If you add a loop to the stuffed hearts or footballs they can hang one from a hanger in their clothes closet. You don't make these large, but a size to fit in the stocking is nice. They are nice to put at the bottom of the stockings I think. A handful of Lego or Duplo pieces to each child, just wrap up the handful like you would a popcorn ball in plastic wrap or cellophane and tie closed with ribbon or a crocheted string. I like rice krispy balls with Red and Green M&M's mixed in, instead of popcorn balls; just wrap them up like you would a popcorn ball. Some children like a disposable Camera so they can take pictures of the event themselves. Later you'd have to pay for developing the film. Or you could give older children a coupon saying they can use your Digital Camera for the Day, and they can be in charge of the Christmas photography this year. You could put the coupon in a nice eye glass case (if your child wears glasses), a wallet, or a coin purse. Little boys always seem to like Matchbox type cars.
Of course Apples and Oranges are always a standby if the stockings are not full enough here too.
crayons, pencils, matchbox cars, mp3 players, hair barrets.
We try to get our grandaughters craft supplies for their stockings. different kinds of pens & color pencils, anything for their creativity.
