The other afternoon the kids and I were out grocery shopping. Our local grocer has a Starbucks inside and we usually treat ourselves to some Starbucks Love. Well, it was exceptionally hot outside and my usual hot/milky/coffee-ish drinks just wouldn't do. I, instead, ordered a Sweet Tea.
"A Grande Sweet Tea, Please."
"Oh, and these organic Chocolate Milks too."
It felt weird ordering something so simple as a Grande Sweet Tea. My order is usually a bit longer with the word "Whip" in it. I wasn't sure how the taste would favor either. I was pleasantly surprised when I sipped on it. It's not as sweet as maybe Chick-Fil-A or McCalisters's Tea, but it was good! I'm not sure what they did to it because I still received that rush of Caffeine Goodness I long for with my regular drinks.
In all honesty, my 17 month old stole a sip and enjoyed it so much we had a blown out fight in the Chip Aisle. Not pretty, folks. Not pretty.
I wanted to let all my readers know how great this tea is. I know when all you Starbucks Junkies go for a "fix" you don't want something weak like tea or you're just longing for your regular drink, but it's Goooooooood when you're wanting refuge from the heat!
Bottom Line:
Taste: It's perfectly sweet, but you can still taste the "herbish" taste if you know what I mean.
Size Matters: Don't get a Tall! They load it with ice and by the time you're actually getting "refreshed" it's gone and you need more. Grande is still a bit small for me, but Venti is too much.
Price: MY GOODNESS! It was a dollar and some change! Yes, it's cheaper than your regular Mocha or Frap. If you're pinched for pennies, this is perfect!

Non fat, no water chai lattes. They are my favorites. I stop there almost every day.
Peppermint mocha is my favorite, although it is generally only a Christmastime drink they will make it for you if you ask nicely. But in the warmer months I am a sweet tea fiend so I will have to try that from Starbucks next time I stop by.

Right here with ya sister. SB is the bomb! I get a drink that tastes just like a latte but cheaper (and healthier). I get the Pikes Place roast and add toffee nut syrp to it. Then I add half and half, a little whipped cream, and Splenda! Yummy!

Well, I have to drink decaf and can't have milk, so in the summer it's always a challenge to get them to make what I want:
decaf iced coffee with no syrup and a little soy milk
yes, I know, that means putting ice in hot decaf coffee, that's ok, I don't mind it being watered down
no, no, not a soy latte, just a little soy
it's a challenge, but good if they get it right (only happens occasionally)
